Reporter Jessica Kastrop (referred to by some as the "German Erin Andrews"), hit in head by soccer ball
On August 31, 2010, she revealed in an interview on American TV(below) that this is the 3rd time she has been hit by a ball (the first time in fact, she went to the hospital).
The force of the hit might give you some idea why, according to an article in Science Daily,
"A study of professional soccer players in Italy found that the incidence rate of ALS was 6.5 times higher than in the general population."
Wow.
